The Institute of Technolgy Carlow is located at Kilkenny Road at the southern end of Carlow. There are about 3000 Students at the IT but the number is growing constantly since the college is expanding. The old main buildings were recently connected by a new central services building. This year another new building (the Learning Ressource Center) was connected to this complex, forming the main complex of the college. Furthermore there are three other buildings and the Sports Center.

Unlike studying in Germany, sports are very important in Ireland. The college supports all kinds of sports one can think of with money, professional coaches and space. There are teams for almost all of those sports that are playing in leagues and are participating at cups throughout the country. I played (of course) Volleyball in the College team.



Southern Gardens. The place where I lived while I was in Ireland. Students rent houses and there are about 8 students in each house. Southern Gardens is just a five minutes walk from the College. This implies that it takes 30 minutes to walk to the town. You cannot have everything...
